damn that stuff is amazing. they look so photorealistic it's absurd...
did you purposefully draw the cobra with a skull like immage in it's head? I'm seeing a human skull in the way the scales are drawn on it's forehead... its kind of creepy... but awesome in a way that I want a full size poster of it hanging in my room!

I've usually poo-pooed pointillism (altho I made a point (HA! Get it?!) of seeking out Seurat's La Grande Jette when I went to Chicago a few years ago), but you're really good at stippling, man. I think my fave here is Into the Light, because of the creepy original Twilight Zone vibe the stark black/white gives off. Hands are amongst the hardest body parts to make look right and you show a very large amount of skill at them with that pic, man.
Again, you ever thought of doing comics?

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys! The skull superimposed on King Cobra's head was intentional, as a matter of fact, it was the whole idea behind the picture. I had seen some photos of several different kinds of snake breeds that had almost skull like patterns in the scales on the top of their heads. I didn't want the skull to be too obvious, I wanted people to see a snake first, then realize there was a skull on the brow. Hopefully, that is the way you guys viewed it. In my former life, I seriously considered a career in the comic book industry, but what can I say...Shit happens, and so does life. I had to get me one of them real jobs and support a family, so I ditched school and put my nose to the grindstone. Stippling can be very tedious, but it can be a very effective method as well. I primarily like to just work with pencils as they are the most simple, convenient, and clean way of producing any kind of art. Some of the pieces above are mixed media, I have gone back to the original post and added the used media to each piece. "Into the Light" is actually black scratchboard, if you look really close, you can see the gouges in the scratchboard that I made because I cut too deep, but I think it also adds a little extra texture to the piece. Once again, thanks for looking, here's a couple of pieces from way back... VAMPI SHADOWHAWK

Pointillism was one of my favorite techniques in high school. I still dig it. It's one of the reasons I really dig your stuff.
I remember having fun with stratchboards, but I dont recall anything ever turning out very well.
Great stuff!

Thanks again for looking guys. Someone on another site had suggested to me that he would get a tattoo of "King Cobra" if I would put a body on it. Oddly enough, my original concept involved a complete skeleton superimposed on the snake kind of like a mummy in a sarcophagus. Well, I don't know if this is what he was looking for, but I worked this out the last couple of days. "SARCOPHIOPHAGUS HANNA" -pencil and another older piece... "NOMAD" -colored pencil

I originally wanted to be a graphic artist, I was a commercial art major for a couple of years, then I suddenly became a family man and had to find work in a more lucrative field. Lately I have been very busy with work and travel and have not had the opportunity to make customs so I have been drawing quite a bit. Nice thing about drawing is you don't need power tools, blades, paints, or even a lot of work space. In addition, I can do it at work or on the road. Thanks again for all the positive comments! Here's a few more that I dug up: "CONTEMPLATION" -charcoal "NAOMI CAMPBELL" -ebony pencil
