I have never been a fan of the joe stands so I usually have them just standing on the shelf or in some sort of dio base. So I decided to try my hand at making a textured stand. This is the first one I have tried. My town has lots of bricked sidewalks so that is what I went with. Unpainted, not real impressive. I wasn't sure how it would come out. With some paint it started to look not too bad. I am still not 100% happy with it, the white from the underbody keeps showing through. Next time I need to prime the surface before I start painting so it doesnt wipe off. And being used. So what do you think? And guys who can paint throw me some pointers.

These are very cool. I spray everything black before I do any painting. Acrylic spray is the way to go.

I used to undercoat everything black, especially if I wanted darker colors. Using a wash could help too. This looks awesome as is.

Hardwood Floor. I am not happy with the grain. I need to find a better tool. But it came out better than expected. Especially looking at it unpainted.

For the grain, just push the piece into an actual piece of wood to get the imprint before you divide up the boards.

That would work great if I could fine an incredibly fine grained piece of wood that also had a raised grain. And here is a 5X7 brick wall with a stone footer.

Looking good, but I think you could lose the straight marks from the big blocks. Using the same texture as the bricks would look better imo.

I like these. Though those scrape marks look out of place with that type of wall. If it was a loading dock I would say they fit perfect. Actually a loading dock dio would be cool too!

Unfortunately, it also highlights how this guy has no paint apps anywhere except his coat.

Shame you couldn't lacquer it or something before it rotted into nothingness, it does make an effective dio.

It was pretty nice while it lasted. But the stump had to go.
