That was quick, so what do you think of it?

got mine today too. AMAZING. Very nice cast. There was a little bit of flashing still left on it but that is to be expected. I found it interesting that mine is cast in a clearish resin, did you just use some that was left-over from another project? Or did you do that to show off the lack of bubbles, cuz that's what I noticed right away! the construction of this torso mold is perfect. I like the ball joint modification. it's a smart and simple modification that improves upon the 25th design greatly.
I don't have time today or tom. to get started on my torso but I plan on working on it on wed. and hopefully having it finished and ready to ship back to you by friday.

Well yeah about half of the ones that went out are cast in translucent orange or translucent blue since I was casting up the fire blasts while doing these. so a bit using what I had and a bit showing off. yeah a bit of showing off.

i got the torso too!
serpentor's bulk makes it one of my favorite torsos in the joe line to use for customs so having it as a blank slate is a treat. and it's transluscent blue which just looks bad ass

I like it, very smooth & very well constructed. I was worried as to how I'd keep the parts together while sculpting, but everything snaps together nicely. Can't wait to get started!

Yeah the Nude male torso clicks together pretty tightly, I got better separating torsos, it has been a while and I had lost the nack. The average citizen and Big man might need a little assistance to hold them while sculpting. I recoment a little sticky tack/post putty. That will hold them in place without mucking things up later.

Yeah, the upper body doesn't hold tightly if you jostle it, but tack'd take care of that.

I have no idea what to do with it but I hope it'll be cool when I figure it out.
There's a million things I could sculpt onto it but some of the ideas might be too specific to really appeal to the general buying public once its in the store. But I also don't want to go too generic with the additions.

I'm going with a L4D-esque survivor.

I got mine too, very cool! I like the new inner workings, less chance of losing any parts. It's an excellent blank slate.
I didn't have a chance to work on it last night, maybe tonight. I won't have time to work on it next until after I get back from CanadaCon.
Thanks again for setting this up!

NFC, Don't worry about being too specific. The main points of this is to showcase your skill, have fun, and show the versatilily of the Tabular Rasa. Go to town with whatever you want. If you want to do a Dead Space Miners RIG go for it, if you was to sculpt Gentleman Ghosts top hat and tails, go for it. Have fun.

i love this thing. I'm especially loving the simplicity of the new ball joint. In fact... after finishing my torso today I decided to try and custom build my own version of this set up! The guys here will probably hate it but both of the figures I made up like this are mando bodies... I plan on sending both back to you and letting you decide which will be easier/simpler to cast back up... or hell for you to have two seperate molds of mando torsos to mix things up. I for one would love to have a 25th style mandalorian base to use for customs... the only thing I would like to have on top of that would be gauntlets, which I have tried and tried to get casts of to work right and still havn't.

I guess I'm being a little selfish here... since I have been wanting a standardized 25th style mando torso for ages and have tried making the splicing of the two lines work but that means two figures have to die to make it.... this oppourtunity to get them "stock" came up and I had to take it! I'll try and post pics tom. after the sculpy has hardened and I can handle it easier.

Mine arrived yesterday as well, but I still +/- a week of classes left to do so I won't be able to even think about it till then. Hopefully I'll come up with something cool... I was going to just sculpt boobs on it, lol.

starwarsgeek brings up a valid point that I myself was pondering today... it'd be nice to have a female blank in the joe format. IDK which female figure you'd use as the best blank for the torso but it'd be nice to have something OTHER than the crap-tastic marvel universe figure blanks...

People are way too harsh on the MU broad bod. It's lots better than many of the male bods in the line, and suffers mostly due to the lack of a swivel bicep motion, the extraneous waist swivel, and the fat cankles. The torso proportions themselves are fine so long as you're wanting a chick built like ye proverbial bricke shitehouse. The Microman line had 3 diff chest fronts for board-flat, regular broad, and hominahominahomina boob sizes. I've toyed with the idea of trying to get a 'perfect' female blank out of one of them, after converting to less mechanical and naturalistic MU/Joe engineering.

I've toyed with the idea of trying to get a 'perfect' female blank out of one of them, after converting to less mechanical and naturalistic MU/Joe engineering. I'm not saying I don't like the MU "broad bod"... in fact I think it's great. It's just that it wouldn't translate as well into this technique of casting up a blank torso. I think he needs to find a set of joe parts (probably the ROC scarlett in uniform or armor) and do exactly what he's done with the ones he has finished. that being, he needs to sand it down to smooth pieces that are featureless except of course for the boobage. and on that note he then needs to get 3-4 sepperate figure's chest pieces and sculpt on different bust sizes or offer a flat chested "sculptors choice" part that allows sculptors the freedom to choose for themselves. in essence It'd be a MU style featureless body but in the joe construction style. IE: without the gay swivel joint, better chest-waist gut ball joint, and of course the joe style hip ball & sockets.

Spud, nobody's "choice" is flat chested...

Spud, nobody's "choice" is flat chested... I just meant that if they are sculptors blanks then the sculptor could make it however velumptuous they wanted.

I have plans to do a female body, but the only one I have is pilot scarlet and I dont want to chop her up. I have been looking for a MU female to start with but my stores are sold out. If anyone has any fodder in that direction I wouldnt reject it.
So I think everyone should have their package by now except Marcus. Is that the case?
