I've been meaning to get to this project for months... I purchases this pick up truck at wal-mart a while back: (I think I made a post about it way back when I got it but don't feel like searching for the original thread)... so I've decided to make it into an ATR zombie killing rough and tough survivor's pick up truck. I've got a few unique Ideas but is there anything that you guys think should be put on it specifically? I'm thinking I need to scratch build some kind of grater or "cow-plow" on the front of the truck and then add some armor plating around the vehicle as well to give it that "end of the world" look... what else should I put on it?

Damn man that truck is a beast! I like. I like the cow catcher idea. Perhaps use some window screen to cover the windows? Some sort of bed mounted machine gun? Stowage? Snorkel and exhaust? Man there are so many things you can do here. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

True to my ky roots... I was thinking about making a camper-topper for it?... but putting an "end of the world zombie fortified" twist to it.

I'm also planning on doing a figure to go along with this... I think I'm going to use the character "Tallahassee" from "zombieland" as a loose inspiration for the figure and his backstory...
basically a good ol' country hick who was never good at anything except working on trucks, crashing said trucks (demo-derby style), and shooting things.... perfect combination for a zombie Apocalypse survivor!
so far things I'll be adding to the truck: cattle plow camper-topper for the bed (removable) - removable top for the camper bed so that the inside can be detailed fortified "sniper's nest" on top of the camper with sandbags and a luggage rack pieces of added "armor" plating to give the look of a cobbled together P.O.S...
small details I'd like to incorporate: the crappilly painted on #3 (inspired by the zombieland movie, and Tallahassee's devotion to dale earnhardt). either a dear antler rack on the hood or a set of longhorn cattle horns. wire mesh or bars over the windows
I plan on starting on this in the morning after work if I'm not too tired...

I said it on FB I like the blue, especially if you go black on the tracks. For the back wheel wells perhaps use some plastic to close them off.
