I finally got my hands on a Terror Drome! Been wanting one of these things since I was a kid. Mamahawk was going to go in half with me on it for my birthday, but ended up springing for the whole thing, minus the shipping. Thanks Ma.
I have it all unpacked. Only one piece is damaged and it wasn't due to shipping. The plastic is yellowed and dirty, but nothing some decent cleaning and a good paint job wont fix.

One of the most rewarding customs I've ever done was my Shadow Drome. It was such a shitter beforehand but I fixed everything. Make sure you spray up the silo machanism with some silicone lubricant as a final step.

Got all of the residue from the stickers off tonight with Goo Gone.
Bath time tomorrow.

That's awesome! I'm jealous. I'm going to have my BBI air force launch an attack on it when it's completed, lol.
What do you plan on doing to it? I wish we could get some new playsets besides PTE, but I think those days are behind us.

Right now I am stuck between a desert scheme and a wild land scheme.
The desert would be an easier paint job and would fit into my next Cobraverse storyline.
Ma has a huge tree stump in her backyard that would be perfect for a wild land design.
Just not sure yet.

Both sound like good ideas. I think I've seen a desert TD, I've always liked that theme. I had a 40K Desert Space Marine Chapter once. A wild land design would be pretty cool. Especially if nature had started to assimilate the TD.
Any chance of getting a second one, heh heh?

A second one? Well, there is a thought that never occurred...
I am leaning more toward the desert scheme since it will fit in with my new Cobraverse stuff.
It'll be a shame to waste that great stump in Ma's yard, though.

Maybe your Ma can transform her yard into a large sandbox ?

Hmm...now there is a thought. Though, with all of the problems she has with raccoons, they'd never leave.
I think it's settled. Its gonna be a desert scheme. I have a new chapter up in my Cobraverse and it is dependent on this idea.
I haven't started working on it yet. Too busy with my TF Seekers customs. Probably start cleaning it after I finish them and start painting it after my next tour.

Desert scheme it is. Can't wait. Shame to waste the stump, but it will still be here for the next one! Yeah, the raccoons - maybe you can leave it out in the yard for a couple of days when you finish. Might scare them off - as long as they vacate the yard before they croak. Of course, there's always that "toss the carcass into the next door neighbor's yard" ploy I missed out on the first time.

We throw leftover food over the fence into the neighbors yard all the time. LOL

My Terror Drome got a bath today. All nice and clean.
Might try to get some of it primed today.

Awesome. Makes me wish I had the space for one never mind the space to paint one.

Yeah, this thing is a space hog to be sure. It's to the point now that I can at least use it for a display. There is plenty more I'd like to paint up on it, but at least it's presentable now.

The terrordrome is by far the best playset from the ARAH. Having owned pretty much all of them, its the only one I really enjoy to sit and play with. The Flagg was nice, but I had to take it apart every time I was done...very tedious, lol. In my verse, the terrordrome is neighbors with the original joe base...talk about a bad neighborhood, Here is my restoration...again, www.narceron.com/2010/10/terrordrome-restoration.html
