When I can afford enough mold material to make some sturdy molds that will last a while I might start a small store, though it will probably be primarily for ST6 members (so I dont get killed with orders, though I also will most likely only do in stock orders if I set that up.)

I'll pay you to help toward you being able to buy more stuff for molds if it means getting some of those books.

We can set up a section here on the board for a store.
I had planned on doing that at some point anyway.
I had hoped to be selling my custom weapons at some point.

Wow! Didnt expect this much interest in the books and scrolls! The inspiration came from some gaming minitures that I downloaded pictures from on the net. I had made a callage (spelling?) of them and printed them out for inspiration for customs. A few of the figures had books either open or closed as well as a scroll like the one I made rolled out on a staff it was carrying. So there would be interest in a store? Well JD, I have been wanting to get the mold material in gallon sizes instead of the trial sizes. Thats where it gets REALLY spendy... Description Cost Order Qty Smooth-Sil 920 - Trial Kit $27.00 Smooth-Sil 920 - 1-Gallon Kit $167.00
As you can see the price gets painful...LOL
As for the ideas on the store, I would be cool doing it in a way in which all funds earned went back into buying more supplies for the store. For me it would not be for making money but more for covering cost of supplies/shipping to get some new stuff out to the community. Though the realistic side of things, I would definitely not want it to spread outside this board so, as I said before, dont get killed with orders. (Gotta have time to make the new stuff occasionaly!)

IMO the other boards, frankly, aren't worthy of getting in on that action. It belongs here and this where all knowledge of it would stop. If the store opens and we suddenly have new wannabe members signing up everyday after it's live, guess what? I'll start dropping the guilloutine on peoples' memberships if there's ANY question about "could it be him/so-and-so that spilled the secret?" no, I'm not kidding about that. the secret of the store WILL stay here.

Full agreement.
I dont think anyone on here would have a problem paying a price that you'd need to charge to cover costs.
I'm sure with some thought we could come up with a way to set up some sort of ordering system that wont swamp you. Limit how many per person, only making so many in this batch, that sort of thing.
The only thing I would like to remind everyone of: 1. Dion, charge for your stuff, I dont mind paying good money for your stuff, its worth it. 2. Everyone else, if Dion doesnt charge you, kick something back his way anyway for his troubles. You know, either cash or a couple new Joes or SW figures. I think that makes it fair for everyone, yeah?

AGREED! Not charging for stuff you're sending out because you made extras JUST TO send is okay (and much appreciated), but if you're taking orders, you gotta charge for it. And whatever you DO charge is worth every penny of it. That is not my opinion, that is a fact.

I tend to charge a little less for some of the flawed stuff on occasion though. If you have to patch up tiny holes its not worth as much. Hopefully when working I can get my pressure pot working again or build a new one. Its really sad that as soon as I got it designed the way I wanted it developed air leaks that I cant find.... grrr.

All this stuff is awesome. One comment on the Dr Who head, I immediately knew it was a Who and I never watched the show so that is damn impressive. The scrolls and stuff are A-fuckin'-mazing and would fit in perfectly with allt he Indy stuff coming out, or for Mindbender's sick as fuck lab.
As an artist I can say it's hard to know what to charge people, it took me a long time to look at a friend who wanted a piece and say, "For someone else it would be $2000.00 for you $1800." Once I did though I found my friends willing to pay it. Same with your stuff man, it's top notch artistic work charge for it and make it worth your time, otherwise no matter how much you like casting and such it'll become monotonous and you'll start to get frustrated. Your stuff is well worth paying for.

Thanks! I was suprised to find that sculting up the scroll and open book was not as difficult of a task as I had thought. I just need to get some smaller sculpting tools for the obscure text though. That is the pain. Now the people that sculpted the text onto books in game miniature form (the inspirational art I used.) That is some super fucking skill! I definitely wish I could do that and maybe someday will, though for now I think I will stick with1/18th scale...hehe.
I need to get back to work on the good doctor soon. I am unfortunately sitting arround the apartment board waiting for the inspection. Dont want them nosing arround in the middle of trying to work on anything...bleh.

Damn! I would like to do that, got alot of projects I want to work on that would require much larger amounts of mold material (and casting material for that matter...)
