LOL, yep it is! hehe I just tested to see if the helmet and young boba fett poncho would fit on him, it does! I might actually go though with it as a custom!
Brian, I will see what I can do! If nothing else, I will make copies of sculpted parts for you to incorporate into customs!

Vey cool stuff man. What's the head to the left of the painted clone helmet? Looks like a rabid space bulldog.

Brian, I have not started specificly on Durge yet, though a have a number of helmets in the works that could easily end up as the official Durge helmet! Narceron, I was planning on casting the head when finished, though I could cast up the bodies too. It would most likely end up a kit like Keenan did with the cast up Spartans on GTG last year. That means you will need to do a bit of dremeling to get the parts you need. Keenan, the helmet is a cast of the one you sent. I have modified to be wider to fit over the McSolo head since that pic. Here is the pinhead Evil-Lyn. I definitely think the head scultping is the going to be the most difficult part...

What product do you use for sculpting???

Aves FIXIT Sculpt most the time, sometimes Magic Sculpt (practicly the same stuff in my experience though the magic sculpt takes a little longer to cure.). I am going to give green stuff a try some day...

I use Green Stuff and I can't get anything near the detail you get. What tools do you use? How do you sculpt (meaning: put it on shape to approximate area, dry, carve)? Do you subtractive or additive?

I use a little of all methods you mentioned. I do alot of scraping and refining after a sculpt has cured with an exacto knife. My favorite sculpting tools are a dental pic, sharpened and bent sewing needle with fixit handle, and set of mini-screwdrivers. The ends of the flat edge screwdrivers are usually dremeled down to be sharp so I can get better details with them. My problem is patience. I try to do too much in one sitting. If I was more patient thing would look better.

I am trying to learn patience, though to quote :Tai Kwan Leap: Boot to the Head "Patience, ya ya ya how long will that take?"

Thanks man. My issue is patience as well. I hate priming figures for just that reason. It always takes forever for things to dry/cure/set etc. I'll have to get myself of tools like you described and try my hand at detailed carving, here's to hoping I can take my time.
Awesome work (I actually hope your patience doesn't get better simply because I have a feeling that looking at your work would make my head spontaneously explode).

Thanks guys! Well here is another one I have been procrastinating on starting (well that and making molds of some of the customized parts before assembling in case I fuck up the project...) Here is my Super Super Articulated General Grevious! Incorporating parts of two different Grevious figures and the new articulation that I found at the hobby store. I have to sculpt arround the upper arms and make sure the articulation can rotate in the sockets though. By adding the ankle articulation I was able to make Grevious not just a more accurate stance, I was able to give him a height that is closer to being accurate. I also gave the pelvis area microman style ball joints to attach to the upper legs and the same style of ball joint to attache the pelvis to the mid torso. This allows the torso to have three sections that can be rotated, or in the case of the pelvis also tilted as well.

Just checked. Sadly not very well though plenty of time to fix that problem. Though while I was checking that I was breifly starteled by a back of action figure parts settling on the table. I thought something was crawling arround in the bag at first...hehehe. That or the spirit of all the dismembered action figures was looking for revenge!

well blaster, you got these articulation parts so you can give this custom a try too! All you will need is some microman pegs for the legs. I have a few molds on the side that when I mix too much casting material I pour the excess in the molds and make extra microman ball joints for customs.

i'd love to use MM hips articulation but i don't own MM figs (and i can't afford to buy some currently because of my Indy buying sickness), furthermore i still don't have a dremmel
i guess it's pretty useful to drill and sand the places where the MM articulations go (i've used my drill for the knee articulation but i don't think it's gonna work on such small work)

Well when I am working again I might have to send ya a bunch of microman articulation for you to use.
