yeah, okay, the title is deliberately teasing here. ;D Yeah, I'm an asshole, I know. HAHA! But it's reassuring that I AM plugging away consistently on the project, right?
Just wait a night, I'm going to snap some WIPs for the Nullifier tomorrow, I'll post them tomorrow night.
Remember when I said I took the challenge and I'm running with it? Yeah, I'm having a hell of a lot of fun on this custom. You think I've done some substantial sculpting before? Shit, you ain't seen nothin' yet! So much green stuff here that I'm really taking WIP pics of the helmet and the armored-up figure just to brag, I can admit that... But when I post the finished figure pictures, well, it'll be immediately apparent why WIP photos will come in handy. I'm damn proud of this one already.
And this here board is [of course] getting the exclusive sneak previews. I think (hope) you guys are going to be impressed.

Here goes nothin' I want opinions. Yes, I know it's a LOT of "green stuff" and it's sometimes hard to see the custom's true identity. BUT I'm thinking the identity of the Nullifier probably still rings through all the ugly psychedelia. what'chy'al think?

You threw the gauntlet down, buddy, I know you picked a whacked-out thing like the Nullifier specifically for my unique approach to characters. Have I met it so far?

Not familiar with who the Nullifer is, however this looks cool! I like the addition of the clone parts added to the 25th joe. That helmet is sweet!

Dion, this is the IG AGP pilot, the custom was inspired by Hasbro's original pack-in figure. According the FC, they were supposed to be big guys, mine definitely will be. ;D

Oh wow, the detail in your sculpting is pretty good! I like how you pulled the design of the face plate off....Very nice.
You've been doing some really cool 25th customs lately.....Your Night Vulture is real cool.
-EDIT- "alotta green stuff"................so, whats the whit stuff? Is it easier to use than the green stuff? Does it air dry? Or are they grafted pieces?

You've been doing some really cool 25th customs lately.....Your Night Vulture is real cool. more where that came from. I have some really random but very weel-suited-to-Anniversary-style stuff on the way! The white is actually chopped and cropped, sanded-down clonetrooper armor. It was expoxied into place then sculpted on top of and around with green stuff. More left to do too. Man, I wish I'd taken a picture of the dremeled down legs before the armor was attached and the fabric of the pants was built back up and resculpted. Never thought about photographing it at such an early WIP stage. Stuff like the face shield had no guide whatsoever, I just free-hand sculpted from a reference pic of the visor right on top of the CG helmet front. I'm not quite done with modifications yet, he's not even close to ready for painting, but I wanted to show where it's going. (still deciding on the color scheme actually...)

The first rough paint coat is done just to show y'all what I came up with and I'm looking for opinions on the color sheme. I snapped a couple pictures this morning which I'll post up here tonight. Needs detail work, some spots need to be smoothed out on the figure and some straightening up on the sculpting itself is definitely a must. Why oh why is it that a light wash of paint is the only way to realize shit needs to be patched up? Necessary evil due to to human visual acuity limitations, of course, but that's frustrating to me. Anyway, I'll show the pics off tonight. Definitely wanting feedback on it.

I'll add that mine will look nothing like any of them. While the armor and sculpt details were inspired by the very first figure (that khaki tan colored wonder), the custom itself is "Anniversary" Nullifier insofar as the new 25A Zartan and Serpentor by Hasbro are. Y'all will [hopefully] dig what I did with the figure. I'm an IG fanatic so I very much hope that the custom will make that clear.

The super dark bronze is going to be lightened up a couple shades make for more of a contrast against the black, there will be more red, and the IG-necessary gold is going to be used as a subtle "wash" over some of the uniform details to bring some the sculpting out a bit more... beyond that is pretty much what I had in mind.
My aim with this particular color scheme: It's different the straight up black 'n red of the IG "theme" but substantially closer to the spirit of Destro's forces than the original tan-gray figure was.

I had considered doing a Nully myself, but never got around to it. This one looks good, and it obviously took alot of work, but it just seems too thin for the Nully in my opinion. Of course, the original wasn't all that big either, so this looks really good, but their description always made them out to be big guys in big armor.

Looking forward to seeing this finished! The gold wash should turn out well! I tried that on a figure once and it really brought out alot of detail. I like how you sculted in the circuitry into the armor. Really cool!
