Years before I got into customizing, I used to do video game mods mainly for star trek armada. Still do occasionaly though not as much as before. Some of these are for Star Trek mods, some are for different genre full conversion and some are for my space rpg game converted to real time stratagy. Please note the polygons on these are usually 2000 or lower so it didnt kill the game engine when building fleets. (polygons are the number of sides that a given 3d model has and each surface needs to be textured. Big polygon stuff takes up computer resources fast.) I always hope that one day I will finish texturing this one. imageshack deleted most my old online pics.

Nice battle cruisers man. What are the red ships that kinda look like silverfish?

The top set is an Agressai Destroyer and the bottom set is an Agressai Military Cargo Transport. This is an Agressai Heavy Battle Cruiser The map I posted in the pen and paper rpg section: st6customs.proboards105.com/index.cgi?board=paprpg&action=display&thread=1467&page=1Is the map of The Agressai Imperium, the location in my universe that one would find such things. Hoping to eventually sculpt up some of the main warship of the Imperium to make miniatures.

Cool. Never heard of the Agressai, so I'm supposing they have nothing to do with Star Trek?

Nothing to do with star trek. Only the first two Klingon ships are Trek, I created the Agressai for my own rpg gaming universe. Those 3D models were in my "Galactic Uprisings" full conversion for star trek armada. Was going to release that mod public back in 2005 but realized I was no where close to finished back then...

Since I have been 3d modeling for the last 7+ years (might be 8 or more now) its rather easy as far as difficulty, its just time consuming. Honestly the texturing of the 3D model is by far the more complicated and tedious part of it. The right texture can make all the difference. You gotta make overlays of different surfaces of the 3d model and have those overlap on a 2D surface, being the texture. I have had a number of friends over the years want me to teach them 3d modeling. No more than five minutes into it they change their minds...hehe. That first Klingon ship has probably one of the best textures I have ever made.
I actually made a new 3D model (no texture for it yet) to represent Soren73's character's ship in the rpg session I am running for him. I used the layout of the 3D model to also prep a map for all three decks of the ship. He's getting spoiled as I have never put this much preperation into a game before, though it all goes into my records to recycle the game data for other players down the road sometime. (So I dont have to make all this stuff again...hehehe) Planning on sculpting up some game miniatures of the Agresaii stuff too.

Thats the first 3D model I have worked on in a while. Everytime I step away from doing that for a few months I keep thinking I will forget how to work the program, though has not happened yet.

Just found this functional pic of another ship I made few years ago. The game model had a grey and green texture. The grey was for the TMP (Motion Picture Era) version of the ship and the Green one was an upgraded Next Generation Era version of the ship.

Very cool. You seem to like doing Klingon ships, any Federation?

I did alot of them back in the day, though the texturing was crappy on them. Later when I got better at texturing, the modding boards were chocking on hundreds of federation designs and alot of people just were getting sick of seeing them. I had alot of ideas for fed ships, though also by that time I had also started work on the Galactic Uprisings full conversion mod and stepped away from Star Trek mods. Though if you do a web search for Straxus and Hatak you will most likely find my Goa'uld Hatak and few other fan-fic Goa'uld designs.

dude, if the Romulans had some of those ships to ride around in, the Remans would just stay on Remus and never venture off, they'd be too afraid. Rightfully so.
