Well its been ages since I mold/cast anything so over last couple days I have used up what was left of my mold material. Fred Meyers has for a few months now been carrying various colors of metallic pigment called Pearl Ex in their art sections. I purchased some a while back but decided tonight to test to see if its good for using as a pigment. Most the reflection in the pic is from the pigment in the castings.

Well if you are going to the meet I am gonna do a class on it.
I just tried the Aztec Gold and it looks cool. I bet when I use the clear resin with the pigment instead of the quick cast (I am using right now) that the casts will look like real metal!

Julien, I actually have two molds for that helmet, I just can't find the other mold at this moment. I am prepping a big batch of those to send to you. JD, there will be a few CLAWS masks, I will be sure to set aside a few for you!
I cast up some Gillotine masks as well.

hehe, I knew there would be interest in that one!
Well now that I got a few torsos cast up I hope to take the slightly flawed ones and alter them into new torsos to remold/cast later.

Well resin I am using right now (due to how fast it cures) cures off white, so you lose a bit of metallic look to the cured piece, though with the clear resin (that cures overnight) it should look really good! I can already tell that I need to pick up more metallic pigment when I do my order for more mold material next week.
I got my white EVA figure stripped down in preperation for the parts fitting and then will start sculpting. Gonna be a character to fit into my universe setting.
Two Guillotine helmets, shouldn't be a problem. I currently have three or four cast up.

Nice! Well after I catch up on current list of stuff for people and some of my projects I would be interested! Though the process of prepping things for mold/casting does sometimes require superglue and/or needles being inserted in parts to suspend them. Just wanted to let you know ahead of time. ummm, is it safe to assume I will not being seeing my sanction head or nick fury for a bit longer, lol? dig the helmets, though. yeah, I'm thinking that's safe to say. same with the shotgun and clone blaster I sent him to cast up. I am still looking for those. Remember I have a cat that loves to bat shit off the table to get my attention... I am hoping I can still find them.

Remember I have a cat that loves to bat shit off the table to get my attention... I am hoping I can still find them. needles and superglue arent a problem. 95% of the weapons have superglue in and on the be it to hold a part on, widen a grip (note at bottom)or seal the paint. and everything i craft is durable either cuz the base part was or its been enhanced (also in note) to increase the strengthof the part. note: supergluing your finger to a part then pulling your finger away in a way that leaves skin on is a good way to attach or strengthen a part on custom weapons. i use this technique quite often with favorable results. though i suggest rotating the finger or spot used otherwise you can take of too much skin and it becomes raw and rather painful. this technique is useful and can save some projects from returning to the fodder bin. also if done right can be used can make patterns on the weapon rangong from a smooth finish (like on the one SR my clones have) to a snakeskin-esq patteren
