Holiday special awesomeness!
as in the cartoon, luke, 3po and r2 take out an expanded y-wing win which there is 2 cockpit seats. other added features is a water landing emergency flotation device which inflates on both sides of the fuseloge (sp?) right behind the cockpit. The cockpit also detaches from the engines and becomes a land speeder/escape pod.
Here is what I have so far:
things finished:
two seater cockpit fleshed out
front cannons cemented into place with apoxie sculpt
old r2 unit head removed and replaced with domed unit from ROTS jedi starfighter
to be completed:
paint r2d2
buy a c-3po for the project
buy a yavin ceremony luke for project
place a CO2 cartridge unit in old battery compartment which will inflate "life rafts"
figure out a way to construct inflatable balloons on the sides and a way to store them inside the fuseloge.
create escape pod feature?...
questions....
Is it cool enough to have the escape pod feature that it is worth sacrificing the landing gear slide button? you know how on the y-wing you can slide the button up and the landing gear flips down and up? I would have to sacrifice that feature to create the removable cockpit.
The thing I will do is make the inflatable life raft emergency flotation device things... My plan is to put a CO2 duster canister into the battery compartment conected to a hose conected to the inflatable raft things.... Problem is I know how to do the CO2 canister and whatnot but I have no idea what to use as the actual inflatable. I was wanting something like the material of the old rubber/plastic inflatable toys that are similar to the barbie pools and stuff (no I don't have barbies my little sister used to have them!). My wife suggested I use a woopie cussion.... any suggestions?
