ok... I got this with a big lot of random junk toys on e-bay and I would like to know where it originated. It looks to be about 3.75" figure scale but star wars figs and the new joes are a bit too tall for it... do you guys know what toy line it originated from? I have another similar to it with the same lot of stuff that looks slightly different. oh... and any good ideas for customizing this thing?

It's an Exo-Squad mech, there were a bunch of different ones. The figures are about 3"

Maybe a dremel or something to cut it to fit 1:18 figs? Is it too short in the legs?

yeah the foot stop for the figures is too short. I think cutting a hole in it will allow larger figs to fit...

Man, iirc the Exo-Squad toon came out a few months before the toys hit. I definitely remember seeing the ads for the toys in Tomart's and Lee's for like 6 months before I ever saw a toy, and constantly stroking my bone in anticipation they'd be 18th scale. Remember that this line came out shortly after RAH Joe got axed and this *woulda* been the first 18th line to come along after that fucking horrible day.
Then the day came when I finally saw the damned things and they were this weird mutant scale I'd never seen before. But, I must've been in RAH withdrawal as I had to've bought every damned one of them toys, even the transforming JT Marsh exo-frame that looks like the one Spuda shows above except that it also flips around and turns into a motorcycle.
The only way I ever got to fit a Joe into one was to rip out the thighs entirely. Which meant that only figs that looked like they were already wearing power armor would look right in them as they'd be too heavy for a guy to just be wearing a big-arsed backpack and rocket boots (except maybe Heavy Duty v1, lol).
If I had the skills and materials I have now back in them days I'm sure I could've just extended the thighs, but alas they've all long since been hacked to shit. In fact, I got a project involving the green 'radar' one and the RoC Armadillo in mind, if I can figure a driver for it.

I think what I am going to do to make the figs fit is drill out the shins so that their legs can fit on down into them farther instead of trying to extend the thigh portion... however if I can't figure that out I might have to extend them.

Keep in mind that the hip and knee joints will only function if they line up with those on the Joe fig. Having the Joe knee lower than the exo-frame knee will just be a recipe for a fractured Joe femur. Hold a Joe next to the exo-frame and look at them both from profile to see if they'll line up right or not.
