Hawkeye wanted pics of WIPs not lists so here are three...
Here are a couple WIPS for some vehicles I'm working on. Once I get these complete then I'll take some good pics and try and start a biz to make extra $... customizing other people's vehicles. You know, painting, weathering, detailing, etc. I'll have them send me the vehicles, I'll do what they ask (full paint and custom, simple weathering, simple detailing, etc) and then send them back. Perfect for the person who doesn't have either the time, skill, or patience to customize that vehicle they've always wanted to.
I figure there have got to be people out there who would want this.
Anyway these are some WIPS.
Up first, Cobra Commanders private escape drone jet. Able to launch from a Night Raven or from a specially designed launch pad this drone has been programmed with coordinates to several Cobra Safe Zones. Once in flight the drone flies itself to the nearest and safest area. As a back up the drone is equipped to download up-to-the-minute intel and can abort flight from one safe zone to another. To this end the Cobra science team worked closely with Techno-Vipers to equip the drone with state of the art life support systems and fuel cells allowing it to fly four times the distance of the regular Night Raven Recon Drone. Furthermore, they have programmed it with limited A.I. to allow it to fly even if the good Commander is incapacitated.
Pics:
On this one I need to redo the seat paint, for some reason as it dried it cracked. I'm also going to paint the wing guns black and with silver drybrushing.
NEXT UP:
This shell of a Havok was given to me by a friend. Not really wanting to try and piece it together I decided to put it to better use.
Over the years the Joes have retired a number of vehicles for a variety of reasons. The first to go was the Havok. Yes, Cross Country, threw a fit but in the end relented. The Havok was inefficient and wasteful. Most were scrapped and any useful parts reused. Others were stripped of armaments and used by the Joe Artillery and mortar units for target practice. This is one.
Finally:
I'm reworking my Dragonhawk for the ATR verse. In my verse it's the only prototype of the DH, taken from Groom Lake at the onset of the Z outbreak along with it's two gunship escorts, the Dragonhawk is used for recon, supply drops, and any other useful missions. It is lightly armed to allow it maximum cargo lifting capability.
Originally designed to replace the Chinook and the CH 54 Skycrane, the Dragonhawk can carry a 40,000lb payload over a max distance 500 NM. Far surpassing the abilities of its predecessors.
To ensure its safety the Dragonhawk is accompanied by two heavily armed gunship escorts. (these will be the Avatar gunships so long as I can find two).
Basically I tore out the two seats and cut them into one. I then glued it in place. I now need to close up behind the pilots seat and finish the exterior detailing.
