What can I say? What giant walking tank doesn't need a giant chainsaw attachment. I was originally going to use this saw with the larger ironmonger fig, but it was just way too big. Then the AMP suits came along, and the saw would even fit with the original purpose of the frame. I plan on building up an attachment for it so it slides over the forearm. Right now it is sticky tacked on.

Pretty damn cool. I'm getting rid of my AMP suit if you're looking for another one.

Thanks, D. The next time I pour set of molds for shrinking I plan on seeing what size this thing goes down to. I might get it to monger size without too much trouble. But I am very please with it in relation to the AMP suit.

How cool would it be to have a whole squad of mechs LRRP style? Each mech would be outfitted for a specific role. It would be like taking a real LRRP squad and mechanizing them. Think Snake-Eyes' LRRP in mech suits. I'll have to add this to my ideas (that I will probably never make) list. Point Mech Comms Mech Support Mech Med/Infantry Mech Explosives/Heay Support Mech Command Mech
That would be a cool dio. Maybe the POC mechs could be useful afterall.

Well dont give away all of my intentions D. I just need to get ahold of that many AMP suits. So my first priority on all of them would be new hands. any sugestions?

Oops! ;D Are there any Transformers that would work? I don't know anything about them but there are sure to be some that could work. Sigma six hands, or maybe a 12" figure? Or you could fabricate some posable digits hands with the hinges that Straxus posted. Where's AV? He'd have an answer.

I am considering masterpiece optimus prime hands. I may take a look at MP starscream as well. The hands it came with are pretty small in relation to the machine so going bigger wouldnt me a problem. I will also look at the fans project combinors hands I have. regardless it will involve reproduction. so meh. Where is AV with that answer he is supposed to have?

The rule is normally that I wait until my name is called 3 times, man. But here I am to save the day. Personally, I just wasn't all that impressed with the DAMP Suit. It just looked like one of them fat old men with stick arms and legs, like a guy with a colon that never stopped growing. As to robohands, the absolute best pair I can think up would be the pair that came with the MicroMan Space Assault ScopeDog, which is long since sold out (and all the other 'Dogs they made had swappable molded hands ). They were scaled for a 12" fig and *fully* articulated. Failing that, there may be something in the Option Kits section, or you could email them to ask for help. If the Japanese don't make fully-articulated robot hands in a variety of sizes, then there's something deeply deeply wrong with this world and I don't want to live here any more. Point Mech Comms Mech Support Mech Med/Infantry Mech Explosives/Heay Support Mech Command Mech Since they're mechs, what's the point of Comms and Support versions? They can't fit a radio on the other mechs? What does a mech need to be supported? The Point one makes sense for jungle environs, or maybe mine-clearing duties. Obviously one of them would have the team Commander, but I don't see that it would have specialized gear aside from maybe a fancier radio with more secure comms channels and such. I could see some with heavy weapons; but the whole point of getting into a mech in the first place is to have heavier armor and weapons, and maybe travel faster (altho then you'd just get in something with wings or wheels, imho). I'd think a 5-mech squad would me the best set, with 1 as the Point, 2 'regulars' with one of them being used by the Cmdr, and 2 heavies.

Think more along the lines of a navigator. Yeah, all the mechs would have radios, but the Comms mech would be like a mobile command post with more advanced scanning and navigating abilities. The Support mech would be equipped with heavy machine guns. My idea was to take the LRRP that Snake-Eyes, Storm Shadow, and Stalker were a part of (Dickie, Ramon, and Wade too) and translate them to a mech squad. It would be LRRP 2020. Wade (grease gun) - Point Mech Ramon (radio man) - Comms Mech Snake-Eyes (M-60) - Support Mech Storm Shadow (AR-15)- Med/Infantry Mech Dickie (M-79) - Explosives/Heay Support Mech Stalker (M-16) - Command Mech Just a thought...

Yeah the AMP isnt teh perfect mech, but it is about the best we have gotten so far. I wish we would get a 25th update of some 80s mechs. ohh well. I have been trying to get ahold of that scope dog for a while now. Hard to come by. And when I pictured Comm I think I was thinking more along the lines of extended range unit with lots of jamming hardware and scanning tech. I know I want to do a missile unit and probably an energy weapon unit. I need new hands though.

Downtown and Recoil are both also LRRP guys. NOT just sayin' lets retcon Dickie and Ramon out of it and put actual Joes in the squad. oh and i'm glad that I am not the only guy to point out the redundancy of the commo mech

Wouldn't those be the, *a-hem*, Command and Heavy weapons mechs, then? Nope. The Comms mech collects information/data for the Command mech to use. The Command mech gives orders for the squad based on the available information/data provided by the Comms mech. In my mind it's like Sparks and Joe Colton, they work together but have different specialties. The Explosives/Heavy Weapons mech would have missile launchers, cannons, really big guns that do a lot of area damage. The Support mech is only equipped with heavy machine guns. I suppose you could group them together, but I consider it machine gun versus tank/artillery.

Just to chime in on the mech discussion, I am repainting the two new Joe and Cobra mechs in the POC Alley Viper paint schemes as a urban assault team.
