does anyone here play? I know straxus has a thread going about retexturing the 3d models of the ships in the game...

anyways, deviantart is having a contest for starship design specifically for the game. I was wondering if anyone played and what type of designs are most common. What types of starships are most used?
fighters? freighters? battleships? carriers? etc...?
what vehicles are most popular?

I'm thinking about trying to enter this contest if I can come up with a good starship design.

hehe, funny you mention this, I am sketching up designs right now.

In EVE fighters are usually drones, fighter drones though usually frigates fill the role of fighters.
The rules said 50m to 1000m so probably no carriers. Tier 2 and 3 Battleships in the game are arround 1000m long.
Most used ships in game? My main character has freaking tons of different ships. Most any ship in the game serves a purpose at any given situation.
There are so many ships in eve that it would take up a lot of space to post a decent picture of every type.
That and the Tech3 cruisers of each race have 1024 possible ways they can look for each race design.
Many of the older EVE designs are not symetrical. Though many of the newer designs are.

so... there are no "fighters" per-se...

what is the general type ship in the 50-1000m size? frigates and smaller battleships?

Without an active account I will have to give rough estimates from memory
Frigates usually between 50-75 meters
Destroyers usually between 80-120 meters
Cruisers usually between 150-300 meters
Battlecruisers usually between 350-500 meters
Battleships usually between 600-1200 meters
Carriers are arround 2Km
Dreadnaughts are arround 3-4km
Titans arround 10-14km

Most other ship types are just Tech 2 variations of existing Tech 1 ships with slightly different additions on the hull and textures.
